SEAFORD, Delaware — In a shocking turn of events, Ben Haseltine, a retired male nurse who dedicated his life to the noble art of caring for others at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, has apparently stumbled upon a miraculous “Key to Success” just as he gears up for his golden years. 

“I was absolutely floored,” said Haseltine, 68, adopting the title of “Jona” as he reflected on four decades of professional mediocrity. “Honestly, I could have used this key in my 20s—maybe I’d finally have something to brag about besides my impressive collection of failure.”

With the newfound key, Haseltine is optimistic about tackling the real challenges in life: “Maybe I’ll finally conquer my putting woes on the green or beat my wife at Scrabble. Who knew success was just a metaphorical key away?” 

Haseltine’s journey has not been without its setbacks. He has flunked out of college five times, pitched an early version of the “Clapper” that was met with crickets, and watched his “slip and slide” business wash away when funds dried up. His ambitious solar-powered airplane proposal? Let’s just say it never took off—much like his career plans. 

As Haseltine prepares to unlock the secrets of success, he remains committed to leaving his history of failures behind, one mediocre achievement at a time. 

Now, however, he finally feels all his hard work has paid off, though he’s left scratching his head about what to do with his shiny new “Key to Success.” 

“I guess it’s my patriotic duty to hand over my ‘Key to Success’ to whoever wins the next election—Harris or Trump,” Heseltine mused. “But let’s be real, they’d probably just use it to unlock a ‘Pandora’s Box’ of chaos.”

Speaking of chaos, Heseltine can’t help but mention the sheer luck involved in snagging his Key to Success. By a twist of fate, he narrowly avoided opening a literal Pandora’s Box that was just sitting there, looking all innocuous. 

He described Pandora’s Box as merely looking like any old box—nothing to see here, folks! 

Heseltine insists that he only avoided that blunder by sheer luck, choosing the Key to Success instead. “Years ago, I had a chance to grab the Brass Ring, but I totally flaked,” he recalled. “Not about to let that happen again—no one wants to be the guy who opened a box full of disasters but jeez... a boring life, not that great other....”

Haseltine continue on on his life of failures, but man, the dude is super boring. We, unfortunatley, had to bail.
